Vincent plays 150 in the Plasterworks Cup – Teams & Venues

This weekend sees the Colts take on defending premiers Wagga City in the Plastworks Cup. Riverina Plasterworks are huge supporters of Wagga Cricket, sponsoring both the Colts & Cats. Teams & Venues at the bottom of the page

A bit of a shortage in numbers this weekend has caused a vacuum on the sides, with an S.O.S sent to some veterans to assist with numbers this week. The Colts first grade side remains strong, with the key outs being Luke Hiller who has moved to England & Will Morley who is away for the weekend with Mathew Etchells & Jayden Beattie called into the side to cover.

One highlight of the weekend is the inclusion of 3 members of one family in 2nd grade when Stuart McGowan makes his return to the field. McGowan will have the rare honour of playing alongside his son’s Will & Matt.

The biggest highlight though in this weekends games is the top grades evergreen Marc Vincent who this week plays 1st Grade Game 150 for the Colts. This is a fantastic achievement for Vincent, and to put this into context, his player number (23) is by far the lowest of the Colts number still playing. In our first grade side, the next closest still playing member is Andrew Dutton (109) & in the club still playing is Brenden O’Reilly (71) – not counting this weeks inclusion of fellow veteran Stuart McGowan (65).

Even more remarkable is the fact in that at the end of the 2012 Season – when Vincent was 1st Grade Captain – he retired from the sport through injury.

Congratulations Vinnie & All the best for the weekend.
